This settlement was consolidated with a nationwide settlement of the same claims, providing $62.5 million nationwide.

Brailsford v. Jackson Hewitt Inc. Tax Services of America, Inc. Case No.:  C 06-00700, N.D., California. $675,000 settlement on behalf of state-wide class of California consumers who obtained Jackson Hewitt tax refund anticipation loans.  This settlement was coordinated with a $4.5 million settlement obtained by the California Attorney General, encompassing broader claims concerning Jackson Hewitt’s business practices.
